Loop detectors are a great safety solution for gate or barrier installations. The cable is laid down under the drive way and is connected to a programmable loop detector card. An inductive field is created which when a large metal object such a vehicle drives over the cable this will trigger the relay inside the card . This can be used to control many devices such as traffic lights, intercoms, barriers or gates.
